Safety
Safety was initiated as a CGC priority and to ensure compliance with UCI and new South Africa legislation governing sporting activities in the country.
Safety measures include the "Ride Requirement Document" completed for events organizers to ensure that all cycling events comply with national government legislation. The benefit for event organizers is that ALL events require the very same safety requirements — medical, metro, marshalling, etc.
Safety signage has been erected along various “well-used” routes in the area, including the Lido route in the south, various routes in Ekhuruleni and in the north past the chicken farm. CGC would like to thank Shaun Hannie for his passion and commitment to cycling safety and for all his efforts in producing and erecting this safety signage.
